This place is very professional and effective. I have not had a chance to have dental work done in years, so needless to say my initial visits were full of work to be done. Christy and all the other practioners here were very supportive and positive through my cleanings and other work. They didn't shame me like some dental places have in the past. I am out of pain, cleaner than ever and motivated to stay on track every day with flossing and brushing. We are blessed to have such caring dental practitioners in the Shasta Community Health Center.
Number one, I did not make my appt to see this Dr, but to see the other female Dr. Second, when the assistant called me back for vitals, she very rudely told my husband ( whom I wanted with me) that he didn't need to come back. Ok. He waited in lobby. She proceeded to take my vitals and ask me questions about birth control. When I told her I'd had my tubes tied 18 yrs prior she proceeded to argue with me that I should still be using bc because I could still get pregnant. This woman was very condescending and truly pissed me off with her attitude. I went back out to the lobby to wait for my actual appt. The same assistant came out and called me back. My husband followed me back as I wanted and the assistant again rudely proclaims that my husband is not allowed with me during the visit. I made the comment that I felt my patient rights were being violated. The assistant heard me and again very correspondingly states that I can just go somewhere else if I don't like Dr Klarissa's rule. She pissed me off so badly that I left the appt I had waited a month for! I tried that same day to call and speak with an administrator at the main office and was told I'm bot allowed to speak with the administrator and she could mail me a form! Still haven't heard from an administrator.
I found it difficult to impossible to make an appt. When I got the appt. I was treated somewhere between a criminal and cattle. Throughout my association with this clinic I have no idea who my doctor is or was. Never met him/her. Every procedure is handed off to outside organizations sending patients to every corner of the community. Their existence at all seems, in my opinion, unnecessary.
I'm going to share two experiences on two separate occasions. The first bad experience was in Dec 2016, with Dr. Karissa and her rude assistant whose name I don't know because of zero identification.
My recent visit with Dr. Porter was great! Her assistant was courteous and so was everyone else! I definitely recommend Dr. Porter!
